FAQs

Do you offer a taster lesson?

We offer a 30-minute trial lesson at a discounted rate, allowing you to meet one of our friendly tutors and experience an online music lesson.

What will my first piano lesson be like?

Firstly, our piano tutors are kind, passionate and nurturing and aim to bring out the best in each student. To meet your needs, our tutor will spend a couple of minutes getting to know you so they can better understand your musical aspirations and plan and prepare the best way forward. If you already have experience playing the piano, then the tutor may ask you to play a short piece of music so that they can better gauge your current level and ability.

If you have never played the piano before, then here are some of the critical skills that our tutors will help you to learn right from your very first lesson:

– How to position your hand and fingers correctly
– The names of the notes
– How to play a melody
– How to begin reading sheet music and understanding written rhythms
– Understanding beats and tempo

Which tutor is best for me?

We would love you to book a discovery call with us so that we can match you with one of our tutors who will best fit your learning style and individual needs. There’s no need to worry, our tutors are not only passionate about teaching and experts at their craft, but they are also all-around great people. It’s fair to say your musical development is in safe hands!

Do I need a piano or keyboard at home to begin my lessons?

Yes, to make sufficient progress, you must be able to practice at home. These days, it’s easier than ever to get hold of a keyboard so that you can hone your skills. We can happily recommend some inexpensive keyboards to you during your discovery call if you do not currently have access to one.

How do you motivate your students to practice?

At Limitless, we understand the importance of a positive student experience! Each student, therefore, receives their own personal log-in to our music practice app.

Here are some reasons why our music practice app is beneficial:

– Using our app, our teachers can easily monitor the student’s progress
– Our teachers use this app to send our students goal-orientated practice assignments
and resources
– Students can send their teachers audio and video recordings of their weekly practice.
– There is even a leader board for those who do the most practice!
– We offer incentives such as shopping vouchers and prizes for those who do the most
practice throughout the year!

Are there performance opportunities?

Absolutely! We offer students the opportunity to perform in our summer and Christmas concerts. Hundreds of guests from around the world gather online to watch the show, which is produced to the highest quality.

The concerts are quickly becoming one of our most prestigious events and create great excitement and anticipation for each of our students!

Which styles of music do you teach?

We teach all styles of music, including rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, folk and classical! During your discovery call, we will aim to match you with one of our tutors who will best meet your needs.

Do you teach piano grades?

Yes, we teach piano grades to those who would like this option. Our online lessons have also seen student exam results hit an all-time high. We are happy to prepare students for many types of examinations through boards such as ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, Rockschool and more!

Am I too old or young for piano lessons?

Our youngest student is currently four years old, and our eldest is in their late 80s, so we like to think that there is no age limit for piano lessons.

Which days and times are available for piano lessons?

Our tutors offer different days and times of availability. Each of them, however, can provide daytime, after school and evening slots, with some even having weekend availability too! During your discovery call, we will ask you for your lesson time preference and match you with the tutor who best meets your needs.

How often should I take piano lessons?

The majority of our students typically have one piano lesson per week. A week between classes usually allows enough time for students to practice their pieces before their next session. Fortnightly lesson options are also available for students who prefer more time to practice their material.
